The diaphragm is a barrier method that presents itself as an object of circular rubber designed to cover the cervix. It is used with a spermicidal cream.
Disadvantages: In some cases, rare but not exceptional, the diaphragm could cause serious infections (toxic shock) or recurrent infections, but milder in the urinary tract. Beware the diaphragm does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.
